A family-orientated and growing community near Austin
Dripping Springs is one of the fastest-growing suburbs outside Austin. Not even 25 miles or half an hour outside of the city, Dripping Springs makes a great alternative to being in the city itself while not requiring an excessively long commute. Even though it is growing quickly, the community still offers terrific scenic views of Texas Hill Country and lots of gorgeous green space. There is a nice mix of home styles here, from master-planned communities, to large ranch homes, to newer construction.

Local Lifestyle
Dripping Springs is a community on the rise. It has been growing in recent years, but fortunately it does not feel stuffy or overcrowded, maintaining the small-town feel and avoiding unsightly sprawl. The community also remains close-knit, adding to the small-town charm. There are plenty of opportunities for fun as well as getting outdoors too.
Dining, Entertainment & Shopping
There are a number of local businesses that Dripping Springs residents love to support. Pieous serves up terrific breakfast, as well as sandwiches, salads, and pizza. Plus, they have delicious desserts. The Almost Grown Play Cafe offers a unique concept. A full-service cafe and restaurant, it also has play areas for children, meaning mom and dad can enjoy themselves while their kids play. It’s especially popular for birthday parties, and memberships are available. Le Vacher mixes classic French food with local ingredients to create one of the area’s most unique dining experiences. Tille’s also offers a terrific fine dining experience.
There are several good places to enjoy drinks in Dripping Springs too, with several breweries, distilleries, and wineries nearby. Treaty Oak Distilling makes some of the finest Texas Whiskey. Their ranch is lovely to visit for a tasting. Deep Eddy Vodka also has a nice tasting room, and Frog Pond Distillery cooks up vodka and gin. Parmesan Wines is also nearby and has indoor and outdoor seating for tastings.
Things to Do
Besides enjoying the great food and drink, there are some other things to do in Dripping Springs. Like the rest of Texas Hill Country, Dripping Springs residents love getting outside and enjoying the great outdoors and lovely scenery the area has to offer. Hamilton Pool Preserve is a natural pool and watering hole located just outside of town and requiring a short hike. The picturesque area looks like a slice of paradise, and in the hot Texas summer, feels like one too. Pedernales Falls State Park is located close by and offers camping, hiking, swimming, birdwatching, and mountain biking.
A neat way to see some open space and learn more about the community’s past is to visit the Pound House Farmstead. This property dates to 1854 and was home to one of Dripping Springs’s founding families. There is an oak tree here that is over 500 years old, known as “The Heritage Oak.” There is a small museum, and the property is also great for hosting events.
For a unique bit of entertainment, Dripping Springs residents can check out magic shows as well as occasional live jazz music at Magic’s Theater. Finally, there is a weekly Dripping Springs Farmers Market held at the Pound House Farmstead.
