Welcome to Wimberley
A scenic and charming community with waterfront living
Wimberley, Texas was named by Travel Holiday Magazine as one of the best small towns in the USA. Located less than an hour outside Austin, it’s the perfect place to escape the city. It also has the small-town Texas hospitality you would expect from this area along with some trendy vibes. Many artisans and musicians have chosen to relocate here to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and beautiful scenery. The recent growth in Wimberley means there is a variety of home styles and sizes. The most attractive real estate sits along the Cypress-lined Blanco River and Cypress Creek. Whether it’s to retire, to raise a family away from the hustle and bustle of the city, or simply to find inspiration in the water, woods, and wildlife nearby, Wimberley makes for a great place to live.
Wimberley still has a small town, semi-rural feel but also offers quite a bit to do. There are a variety of local businesses that make it a fun place to live, and you’ll still see deer and foxes roaming around.

Local Lifestyle
Wimberley’s residents prize it for its easy access to the great outdoors more than anything else. However, a close second is the enjoyment of feeling removed from the city. There are plenty of great local businesses where you can enjoy the fun of city living without all the noise, traffic, and concrete scenery. Residents in Wimberley enjoy the much more pleasant scenery of Cypress Creek and the nearby Blanco River. Plus, they feel like they know their neighbors and are part of a community rather than the impersonal city life.
Dining, Entertainment & Shopping
The great dining and entertainment in Wimberley are a big part of the reason its residents feel like they truly have the best of both worlds. The Leaning Pear is one of the locals’ favorites, serving up a range of dishes inspired by the best of Texas Hill Country’s traditional cuisine. CreekHouse Kitchen and Bar is a newer spot priding itself on serving Texas favorites with a sophisticated twist. Jobell Cafe and Bistro also serves up great gourmet food, and locals love to have a casual meal at Community Pizza. Community Pizza’s beer garden is also a favorite watering hole.
For something finer to drink, the Wimberley Valley Winery is terrific. For a unique take on a place to enjoy a drink, check out the Shady Llama, which has an amazing sunset view over the hills and some friendly llamas and miniature donkeys that mingle with its patrons.
Some of the best handmade goods in Texas can be found at the Wimberley Market Days. Held on the first Saturday of the month from March to December, there’s often live music and other fun activities alongside local artisans selling their wares.
